A Zero-Waste lifestyle is something that many are seeking. Now in the era of online education and research, many people are wanting to live their life cleaner and healthier.

Ask yourself why you are doing this. For many people, the reason you are doing it or your “why” isn’t significant enough you won’t stick to it. So be sure there is a really good reason for your lifestyle change.

Remember like any lifestyle change it takes time to change. So start small. What many don’t seem to understand is this is not something that can happen overnight, but we are here to give you a few tips and tricks to get you started!

Bring a reusable water bottle/cup with you. In your car, on your desk, or in the break room. We use plastic bottles out of convenience but if you purchase a nice reusable one you not only save yourself money in the long run but save the planet!

Don’t use a straw when you go out to eat. Instead, you can purchase reusable ones! We found some really cute bamboo or steel ones at TJ MAXX for less than $10. Bring one or two with you every day, if you are a regular straw user. Or just don’t use straws anymore.

Bringing reusable bags to the store. Many stores now even offer you reusable bags for purchase instead of using paper or plastic.

Purchase food with little to no packaging. Now this for many, depending on where you live, can be difficult. Shopping at farmers’ markets when in season is a great place to start. You get to know your local producers more than if you are really looking for a new craft or hobby can half of what your purchase to use in the winter months.
