What is your favorite LOMA product?
My favorite product from LOMA is the Fortifying Repairative Tonic! It's something I feel comfortable using and recommending to everyone. I'm able to use it on any client regardless of their texture or how fine their hair may be.
What's the newest, freshest approach you're bringing to your craft?
I stay present with each client and try to live in the moment at the shop. Since I'm still new into the industry and constantly getting new clients on a weekly basis so it gives me the opportunity to make real connections with my clients. When it comes to actually doing their hair I love getting tips from my coworkers who have all been doing hair for a lot longer than I have and like to put my own spin on it.
What are your stylist goals?
My stylist goals are to build and have a steady clientele of regular clients. I also just want to better my craft and get comfortable with many different techniques and find what works best for me.
What new skill would you like to learn?
I'm currently looking forward to learning extensions. It seems to be getting very popular and I love getting them done on myself. What is the most rewarding part about being a stylist?
The most reward part of being a stylist for me has to be making my clients feel beautiful. When I'm able to give them something that they can’t get on their own plus the experience, it makes it all worth it.
What is your favorite cutting or coloring technique?
My favorite color technique currently is a free hand balayage. I love the freedom in being able to be creative on my end and also giving my clients a unique look.
What is a word of advice that you have for fellow stylists?
A word of advice that id give my fellow stylist is don’t be too hard on yourself! There have been times where because I'm a perfectionist I want everything I do to be perfect, and that won’t happen. This is an industry where things are constantly changing and I have to be there to adapt as well, but also that I need to do my best because mistakes will happen and as long as I can learn from them it will be okay.
How do you like to spend your days off?
I'm one of Jehovah's witnesses and I enjoy talking to people about the Bible and how it can benefit them. I also spend a lot my free time with my family. Late last year I started going to the gym and now it's become part of my routine and makes me feel good about myself.
Favorite pick-me-up in the middle of a busy salon day?
My favorite pick me up is an iced chair blended with almond milk from gravity!
